Microchipping

Microchipping your pet is a safe, easy, effective way to permanently link your pet to you and provide you with peace of mind. At Gosling Road Veterinary Clinic, we recommend microchipping your pets even if they stay indoors.

A microchip is a safe, simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance that your lost pet will be returned to you. It is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The procedure takes only a few minutes and can be completed during any visit to our clinic.

When a stray or lost pet is brought to a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or animal control facility, it is scanned for a microchip. Upon discovery of a microchip, a call to the proper pet recovery database will alert the microchip company that a lost pet has been identified. The pet owner can then be contacted and reunited with his or her pet!

At Gosling Road Veterinary Clinic, we use the Home Again microchip. Once your pet is microchipped, you will be given a Home Again registration form to complete. Registering the number of your pet’s microchip with your contact information includes your pet in a national pet recovery database.

Young or adult, inside pet or outside pet, get your pet microchipped today and give yourself peace of mind knowing that your pet is permanently linked with you.
